Meet David
This may be David’s first year as a counselor at Camp CARE, but he has been a part of Camp CARE from afar for 15 years. He’s volunteering in memory of his daughter, Emily Ann, who was sadly too sick to attend. David, we know that you will make Emily Ann so proud this summer, while bringing happiness to so many kids.
David loves seeing our campers come back home absolutely exhausted but with huge, happy grins on their faces. There’s nothing like the tiredness and excitement of a week at camp! He can’t wait to interact with the kids, help them forget that they are sick and have fun creating happy memories!
David is married to Judy, and they have three daughters – two here with us, and one angel in heaven.
Bet you didn’t know that…
- David enjoys hanging out around the bonfire and working in the yard.
- He’s a handyman – he can fix whatever we break! The one thing he wishes he could fix is children’s broken hearts, but he’s going to do his best to do just that for our week at Camp CARE!
- He’s a diehard IndyCar fan, and he’s twice driven an IndyCar at Charlotte Motor Speedway! As he says, driving 165 miles per hour is the bucket list thrill of a lifetime. (Sorry David…we won’t be driving that fast at camp!)
- His favorite food is oatmeal raisin cookies.
David, thank you for joining us at Camp CARE this summer, and we know your whole family is so proud. You rock!
